Game treatment

Today I am finishing up the game treatment and as I was sick I had to work on this solo. This gave me a good chance though to work through and learn some valuable things in regard to what a typical treatment would look like and need at the minute I am putting the finishing touchs to the formatting

finished concept

finished with the concept , I took care of all the concept work such as covers and characters as well as other stuff including UI concepts. Im now looking forward to presenting to the rest of the class and seeing how our game fairs against their pieces

Over the last couple of days working on this project I feel like I have learned various new ways in terms of teamwork on how to deal with situations and how to communicate my point across to the other members as well as learning more on how to use photo shop to strengthen my concept ideas

Working hard

Currently am working hard on finishing up the character concepts and also trying to figure out a logo design for the high concept piece , so far the images are looking well but time will tell how they end up , also still have to complete the written work alongside this but it will be done within the hour hopefully

Im currently working on my new assignment which is to develop a high concept for a game , this is one of the group assignments which we have been assigned. So far me, Chris and Ciaran have jotted down several ideas and are expanding on these ideas whilst using various social networking tools to communicate.

Our concept revolves around the future, stargate is my main driving force in my head kind of driving the aspects which I feel strongly about. Also reading some of Ernest adam's Fundamentals of Games design concentrating on Chapter 3: Game concepts and Chapter 7 : Storytelling and Narrative.

Over the weekend I am hoping to work on the concept designs of the task dredging up various research ranging from images stored on my external hard-drive to sci films and possible even games themselves.

As I work on my concept designs I will try to keep to keep updating this blog and showing the various different directions I will choose and also possible some of the images if I have enough flexible time

Hi Im Ciaran , Im 20 Years old and Im based in Derry.

I've currently started my first year at magee where I've just begun a venture into the world of creative technologies. The thing that attracted me to the course was the fact that it combined all the different avenues which I generally enjoyed and this also enables me to enter the various points in the industry.

Im fairly enthusiastic about working in any area of the games industry as this will allow me to flex my skills and grow in these various areas

Currently the thing that excites me most about the industry is its close link with the film industry and the evolutions in the technologies with the introduction of various new devices such as project Natal and other developments. my favourite games series include Metal gear series , the zelda series and any other revolutionary series.

Im currently gaming on Xbox 360 , PSP and PC.
